How to become a member?
1. First of all we want to advise you to seek out a club or crew in your neighbourhood or region. If you don’t know of any clubs or crews, please reach out to us and we’ll point you in the right direction.
2. Affiliations to BCF can only be done via clubs or crews. Only in specific cases, when for instance no calisthenics parcs, athletes or crews are to be found near you, we can allow direct memberships. For this, we also ask you to contact us directly.
2. If you are owner or member of a club or crew, make sure that the club is affiliated to BCF.
3. When a club is affiliated, they can request your membership via a specific template. Talk to your club/crew responsible to learn about specific types of memberships they might offer.
4. For non affiliated clubs who are willing to join: please reach out to us and we’ll provide you with the proper documentation to allow subscription to the Belgian Calisthenics Federation.
Why is being a member important?
By becoming a member, you not only support your own sports practice, but also the development and popularity of calisthenics in general. Here are a few ways in which becoming a member can make a difference:
Collective strength
Becoming a member of the BCF means being part of a larger community. Together, athletes are stronger, can make their voices heard and influence the future of your sport.
Professionalisation of the sport
BCF plays a crucial role in the development and organisation of calisthenics in Belgium. By becoming a member, you support initiatives that professionalise and promote the sport, to the long-term benefit of every athlete.
Exercising influence
As a member, every athlete has the opportunity to help decide on important issues affecting the sport. This strengthens involvement and provides a platform to voice your opinion.
Promoting the sport in society
By becoming a member, you contribute to the visibility and acceptance of calisthenics in the wider society, which can lead to more facilities, events and support for the sport.
Ambassadorship
As a member, you are not only a participant, but also an ambassador of the sport of calisthenics, which contributes to the growth and development of calisthenics in Belgium.
Recognition of the sport
Governments and sports organisations such as Sport Vlaanderen and ADEPS often require practical data and supporting documents to recognise the sport. This includes numbers of practitioners, competition results, and how the sport contributes to the health and well-being of the population. By demonstrating the growing community and increase in participants in events, the BCF can position the sport as a legitimate and valuable sport.
